The intermediate class builds on what you learned in the beginning class.  By the end of your beginning class, you’ll have learned how to advance, retreat, and lunge.  You’ll have a basic understanding of right-of-way, and you’ll have some basic offensive and defensive actions under your belt.  The intermediate class will give you more opportunities to refine the skills you learned in the beginning class as well as learn even more ways to improve your fencing. You’ll spend the first couple of classes reviewing some of the things that you learned in the beginning class, and you’ll start learning some new footwork skills.  Throughout the class, you’ll learn some more advanced offensive and defensive actions and you’ll start learning more about tactics in bouting.  Students will have regular bouting opportunities during the class to allow for practice of new skills and tactics.

Many students choose to repeat the intermediate class multiple times in order to sharpen their skills and prepare to join in the open bouting with the rest of our fencers or to move on to the competitive class.
